Creating and Sustaining Authentic Partnership in the Digital Age

Session 31-PC

Families and stakeholders of marginalized students historically have been excluded from meaningful, authentic engagement in educational systems. Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to explore traditional methods of engagement that have discouraged family and stakeholder engagement for marginalized families — often rooted in White dominant culture — and learn how to move toward creating authentic partnerships. Additionally, participants will explore innovative alternative methods of communicating with families and stakeholders via expanded communications methods.
