Creating positive partnerships between families and rural providers through culturally responsive communication and collaboration.

Rural communities often lack resources and access to information. They may face barriers in connecting with providers due to bias, lack of trust, transportation challenges, literacy impact, misinformation and cultural miscommunication. Attendees in this session will discuss how to overcome barriers of trust through eliciting family stories, culturally responsive questions to Identify family cultures. Prompt questions will be shared for families and providers that promote positive collaboration and encourage building partnerships through two-way communication.
