Serving Whole Communities: Examining the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion when working with Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs and their families.

Session D55 (E32)

As communities become more diverse, it becomes vital for organizations to deepen their commitments to recognizing, identifying, and overcoming personal, professional, and institutional barriers to inclusion and belonging. In this session we will introduce the Four Tools of Cultural Proficiency and how they can be used to identify and overcome barriers to family engagement and community support. Together, we will answer the question, “what role does diversity, equity, and inclusion have in family-serving organizations?”
